Early Spring at the Pittsfield Preserve, near Ann Arbor, MI. The cool, misty April morning begged for a blue underpainting of pastel and a wash of isopropyl alcohol. The orange hue of the residual autumn leaves contrasts with their blue complement. A subtle glare of the morning sun invites the hiker toward the clearing beyond the tree line. 9x12 pastel.
